By Joey Roulette WASHINGTON, Feb 19 (Reuters) - NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman on Thursday ripped into Boeing and agency leadership for their handling of the botched Starliner spacecraft mission that left two astronauts stuck on the International Space Station for nearly a year.
NASA classifies Boeing Starliner crewed test flight as a Type A mishap following propulsion thruster failures, prompting investigation and corrective actions before future missions.
The agency released a critical report that puts the Starliner incident at same mistake level assigned to the fatal Columbia and Challenger shuttle disasters.
NASA released a scathing report blasting the agency and Boeing for the failed Starliner mission. Another 2025 report came to a different conclusion.
Technical and oversight problems left two astronauts aboard the International Space Station for months longer than had been expected.
